I have been a greenie for a long long time -you can tell by the age! Currently work for Enviroschools Canterbury. About 4 years ago I started to work ( via the internet) with an organisation in Rwanda called REDO -Rural education and development organisation. REDO is based in Kilgali and works on a number of projects -with the Batwa people, rural communities and environmental education for schools. The later is where I have been mainly involved -providing them with advice and information where possible. I've helped start gardening projects in two schools and at the moment am trying to fundraise for watertanks for the schools. There are 3 schools desperate for clean water ( students are getting water from a nearby river which is downstream of a repatriation camp and very polluted) and a tank costs $10,000 US. So far with the help of three Canterbury schools we have raised $5770.00 NZ.
Only ticked the last box because I'd love to be able to go out and help the schools with their organic gardening!
