I have experience as a soldier in the Women's Army Corps, then the U.S. Army; as a nurse; as an executive director for Habitat for Humanity. Now, I am retired, and I volunteer as an advocate for people suffering from Lyme disease and its coinfections.

Caring for People with Lyme Disease, Why I Support this Cause

Lyme disease is quickly becoming a world wide epidemic. In some places it is pandemic. It is a disease caused by cork-screw bacteria that enters the blood stream through the bite of a tick. Once in the blood system, it will lie dormant or disseminate. It can damage the immune system and any part of the body. The damage to the body is simular to syphilis. Yes, this disease is sexually transmitted. It is also transfered in the womb and breast milk.
