Go Make A Difference

Days 1: Cuzco - Discover the colonial churches and the impressive Inca ruins dotted throughout historic Cuzco, the heart and soul of Peru. Take time to acclimatise to the city's soaring 3,400 m altitude by taking a slow stroll around the many Inca-built walls that line the city's central streets. Join the group for a team meeting then head off into the rugged Andean countryside to the village that will be home for the next two weeks.

Days 2-13: Teaching & Building - Chat to the foreman and learn a few words of Quechua, the ancient language of the Incas that is still used today, while working on the building site in the mornings. Spend the afternoons teaching the local kids, planning lessons and continuing on the building site. There's also plenty of time to join the adults in their cooperative groups, teaching them English or learning traditional dances and weaving. Admire the stunning views of tumbling rugged mountains and racing icy streams during walks into the surrounding countryside. Perhaps even stumble upon little known Inca ruins, as there are several unexplored archaeological treasures dotting the surroundings.

Day 14: Cuzco - Lay the final brick and say a last goodbye to the class and the local community before boarding a bus back to Cuzco. Perhaps toast a memorable two weeks back in the Inca capital over glasses of chicha - the local tipple of choice, made from fermenting chewed up corn in giant buckets.
